We love saffron in everything, especially during Christmas. A sweet, juicy and fresh cake with the taste of saffron and orange, and the crunchy, nutty Tosca on top is just amazing
After some great weeks at the Buffé magazine my classmate made non-vegan saffron biskvier (could not find the name of it in other language then swedish) that I just had to try
INGREDIENTS 3 ½ cup milk1 dried bay leave1 little onion6 cloves2 oz butter1 ½ oz flournutmeg to taste1 oz dried porcini mushroom2 tbs extra virgin olive oil6 tsp truffle and mushrooms cream2 ½ grated pecorino3 ½ tbs truffle oil9 oz lasagne sheets
This year we will have a stressed-downed Christmas and it starts here with an easy Saffron Panna Cotta in front of the fireplace with thick socks on, wrapped in a blanket just enjoying the moment
Well this recipe started out as something completely different but when I realized it wouldn't work out, I rolled the batter into truffles instead, and this is what happened
Chocolate and SaffronChristmas CakeBottnarna180 g vetemjöl300 g strösocker90 g kakao6 g bikarbonat4 g bakpulver60 g neutral matolja190 g mjölk (+ 3/4 msk vit vinäger)190 g kaffe eller vatten2 stora ägg1 tsk vaniljextrakt eller 1 krm vaniljpulverSätt ugnen på 180 grader (ej varmluft)
